Kathleen A. Reiter, of rural Viroqua, age 52, followed God’s plan and was called Home to Heaven to be with Him, Tuesday, November 11, 2020, at her home with her loving mother by her side. She was born December 26, 1967, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, the daughter of Ethel (Harmston) Reiter and the late Arthur Reiter. Kathy was a loving, caring, and compassionate daughter, sister, and friend who loved to give hugs and had a smile that would light up your soul. Due to complications at birth, Kathy had many cognitive and developmental disabilities. She was deaf and she couldn’t do many things other people take for granted, but she could smile, she could laugh, she could love without condition, and she felt extreme happiness when she was with her family. Kathy showed her love without saying a word and we were blessed to have her in our lives. God blessed Kathy with a loving and devoted mother who has been Kathy’s caretaker and best friend for the past 52 years. Kathy loved the holidays, particularly Christmas and her birthday, and getting together with family. She enjoyed traveling with her mother and sisters, she cherished her collection of stuffed animals, and always wanted to have her picture taken. Kathy was a dedicated employee who enjoyed going to work at Vernon Area Rehabilitation Center (VARC, Inc.) in Viroqua for more than 30 years, never wanting to miss a day, and had many friends from her time there. Kathy will be sadly missed by all who knew her especially her loving mother: Ethel (Harmston) Reiter, Viroqua, and her sisters: Cindy Reiter, West Bend, WI; Lisa (Tim) Lamers, Chandler, AZ; Lorna Star (fiancé Mike Allen), Neenah, WI; Kristina (Brent) McCarn, Gays Mills, WI; nine nieces and nephews: Brittany Lamers and Brennan Lamers; Alex Star, Alyssa Star, and Angelina Star; Tyler Finnell, Jordan Finnell, Dylan Finnell, and Kaitlyn McCarn; and grandnephew: Bentley Flanary. In addition to her loving father, Arthur Reiter, she was preceded in death by her sister, Grace Reiter-Rudolph; and her grandparents: William and Henrietta Calverly; and Arthur A. and Margaret (Goebl) Reiter as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service will be held at 1pm Friday November 20 in Gays Mills, WI. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to allow all family to attend and share Kathy’s memory. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to help offset funeral expenses. Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills is serving Kathy's family. 325 Sunset Ridge Ave. Gays Mills, WI 54631 608-735-2100
