Keith Swenson

Keith Swenson, age 63 of Westby died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI. Keith was born March 4, 1943 in Cottage Grove, WI to Ed and Agnes Swenson. The family moved to Westby when Keith was five months old. He was baptized and confirmed at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church and graduated from Westby High School. Keith attended WWTC for drafting and was an avid HAM radio operator his handle, WB9JXZT, contacted over 300 countries. With the help of the Westby and Coon Valley Lions, he became an avid computer expert through his voice-activated computer. Keiths pride and joy were his two classic cars a 1958 Pontiac and 1955 Chevy. With the help of the Lord and support of his loving family and friends, Keith accepted his disability with dignity. His baby blue eyes, his big smile, and his sense of humor will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving and dedicated companion, Karen Swenson; his nieces, Sarah and Stacie; one great-niece, four great-nephews; one uncle; cousins and a host of friends who all loved him dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rodney and Lyle. Keith had been a resident at Bethany St. Joseph Nursing Home for the past 17 years. The incredible loving care he received from all the staff and friends he made with fellow residents will always be remembered. We wish to thank the staff at Gundersen Lutheran Emergency, the Critical Care Unit, and 6-West for the wonderful care Keith received. Funeral services for Keith will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Dennis Hallemeier will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Westby Coon Prairie Church or Bethany St. Joseph Rec. Therapy Department. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family
