Kelly Loren Gardner

Kelly Loren Gardner,51, of Soldiers Grove, formerly of Viroqua, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Gundersen-Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. He was born on June 1, 1962 in Viroqua to Alvin J. and Myrtle (Olson) Gardner. Kelly attended Viroqua High School, and farmed for a while with his father. He also worked for A&K Auto. He was a talented artist, loved restoring and tinkering on old cars, and hunting ginseng and mushrooms. Kelly married Goldie Schaller in December of 1995. They later divorced but remained good friends. He is survived by his son Luke, and three stepdaughters: Misty Schaller, and her children LaRon, Lazairea, and baby Burch; Jessica Jobs (Alex Campbell) and children Taija and Taijaua; and Laura Schaller ( Joe Swiggum) and her children, Luca, Denisis, Paxton, and Hennessey. Kelly is also survived by a sister, Marilyn (Raymond) Wedwick of Viroqua, a brother, Alvin A. Gardner of Onalaska, several nieces and a nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Mark Wedwick. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua, 123 W. Decker St (Hwy56). Pastor Pete Beckstrand will officiate with burial to follow in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10a.m. till the time of service at 11. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is assisting the family.
