Kenneth E. Hohmann, 57 years young, of Coon Valley WI, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on September 13th, 2021. Ken was born to the late Barbara Marra and Henry Hohmann at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Maine North/West High School and Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Kenneth is survived by his wife Sharon (nee Detloff) and his son Nathan E. Hohmann. He was the brother of Angela A. (Mike) Fronczak, and Maria A. (Dave) Schultz; the fond uncle of John, Kelly, Julie, Jack, and Matt; the Great uncle to Natalia, Skylar, and Landon; beloved grandson of the late Walter and Mildred Marra; and cherished nephew of Patricia (Sam) Drewes. Ken is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Karen and Robert Raica, Erick and Tammy Detloff, Regina and Greg Senerius, and Mark and the late Janice Frontzak; nieces and nephews: Brian Raica, Jackie Raica, Kristen and Pat Donahue, Ryan and Rob Raica-Scallan, Taylor, Austin and Hayley Detloff, Ashley Senerius; great nephews: Brian Jr. and Kyle Raica; cousins: Lisa, Michele, Teresa, and the late Gina; and was a special friend to Russell Schwass (Barbara Hohmann). Ken moved with his family to Viroqua, WI and was employed at Vernon Memorial Hospital as the Director of IT until 2013. He then accepted the position of Senior Manager for Global Customer Support at Philip’s Radiation Oncology Solutions out of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Working for Philips satisfied Ken’s desire for coming up with innovative solutions and his need to help others. This became his dream job as he was left to his own devices when he was called upon for a solution. He was well-respected amongst his colleagues and those who grew to become his friend. One of Ken’s highlights in his life was his time working for the Chicago Bulls as a Statistical Consultant from 1989 through 1999. He helped introduce computerized statistical operations to the NBA. In Ken’s free time, he enjoyed live music events, trips to casinos, and taking Sunday rides in his 1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 which he nicknamed “Blue Dream.” His passion was football season as he was a voracious Chicago Bears fan. He did not hesitate to butt heads with friends who favored other teams, especially the Packers and the Vikings. Later in life, Ken felt grateful for the stable life that he had built for himself and his family. He had a big heart and was a giving person, always looking out for those in need. He always appreciated a full shot of tequila, as long as it didn’t spill, and showed his thanks with a big tip. He will truly be missed for his sense of humor, great advice, and occasional poetry.
