Kenneth Marshall, age 88 of Westby, died Thursday, March 2, 2006 at his home. He was born on January 23, 1918 in Vernon County, Wisconsin to Homer and Ina (Calhoun) Marshall. Kenneth was married to Helen Appleman for over 50 years. He was a carpenter and farmer. He and Helen lived on several different farms prior to moving to South Dakota and then Spokane, Washington where he worked as a carpenter and contractor in housing sub-divisions. After Kenneth and Helen returned to Wisconsin, he again farmed and also worked for Hogden and Mikkelson in construction. Kenneth was an avid hunter and fisherman his whole life. He is survived by one sister, Ruth Clark of Wilcox, Arizona; four brothers: Roy Marshall of Rock River, Wyoming, Bill (Grace) Marshall of Cashton, Glen (Inez) Marshall of Coon Valley, and Homer "Wayne" Marshall of Wilcox, Arizona; his special companion, Margaret Vold; friend and relative, Mike Snustead; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; one sister, Louise Perkins; two sisters-in-law, Aneva Marshall and Ann Marshall; and two brothers-in-law, John Clark and Jim Perkins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dell United Methodist Church. Pastor Jean Waldron will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday after 12:00 noon. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
