Kenneth W. Sund

Kenneth W. Sund, age 86 of Viroqua and formerly of Westby, died Saturday evening, March 29, 2008. Kenneth William Sund, 86, died peacefully in the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his loving wife Anna Mae and family on Saturday, March 29th 2008 at Vernon Memorial Hospital. Kenneth was baptized and confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby. He attended elementary school at North Natwick and graduated from Viroqua High School. In 1947 he was united in marriage to Elaine Krueger in Caledonia, MN. Farming became Kenneths most important and loved occupation. He lived on the family farm most all of his life. Kenneth served on the Board of Directors of the Westby Co-op Credit Union from 1969 -2002. He remained in an advisory capacity until November 2007. For a number of years he was also on the board of the Westby Cooperative Creamery. In 2004 he was united in marriage to Anna Mae Krause. They spent many happy days together at her rural Viroqua home. Kenneth leaves to mourn his passing, his dear wife, Anna Mae and her family; a sister, Eleanor and husband Merlin Norskog of Campbellsport, WI; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Sund of Madison, WI.; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Lisa; his first wife, Elaine; five brothers, John, Julian, Clarence, Gilman and Merlin; a sister, Julia Peterson and brother-in-law, Lloyd Peterson; two sisters-in-law, Elinor (Clarence) and Jay (John). Kenneth will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vang Lutheran Church, rural Westby. Pastor Jullie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Vang Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials to Vang Lutheran Church would be appreciated. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
