Kermit Parker, age 71 of Avalanche, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Kermit L. Parker, age 71 of Avalanche, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011. He was born on April 2, 1940 the son of Jason and Maggie (Sanders) Parker. Following the death of his mother a year later, Kermit was raised by Otto and Mima (Parker) Borrison. Kermit served in the U.S. Army with the Red Arrow 32nd Div. Infantry. In June of 1961, he married Beverly Dodge and they had two children: Carl and Teresa. Kermit and Beverly later divorced. In January of 1984, Kermit married Janice (Younker). He was a life member of West Fork Sportsmens Club, taught gun safety, was a 25 year 4H leader, and was past chairman of the Town of Webster. Kermit farmed most of his life near Avalanche and was the owner/operator of Morning Mist Repair. Since 1995 he had been an employee of the Wisconsin State Park System. Kermit was also a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, rural LaFarge and had served as a trustee and communion steward. In addition to his wife, Jan, Kermit is survived by his children: Carl (Marsha) Parker of Boscobel and Teresa (Vincent "Flip") Dvorak of Westby; his step-children: Mark (Diane) Tatu, Beth (Dan) Campbell, Aaron Tatu, Michelle (Bryan) Meier, and Mona (Tony) Gardner; grandchildren: Amanda Parker, Ashlee Parker, Crystal (Pete) Prise, Tommy Nimmo, Justin (Marissa) Tatu, and Amber Gardner; three sisters: Cevil Daulton, Donna Pfingsten, and Garnet Owen; two sisters-in-law, Janice Parker and Belva Parker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Cecil and Lowell Parker; two sisters: Berdina Natwick-Green and Marian (Kenneth) Thompson; and four brothers-in-law: Jack Daulton, Kermit Owen, Harold Green and Charles Pfingsten. Blessed be our memory of Kermit Parker. Services will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church on Salem Ridge, rural LaFarge. Pastor George Shick will officiate with burial in the Salem Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Sunday. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
