Boscobel / Gays Mills Kevin Jay Starkey, age 57, of Boscobel, died Saturday May 6, 2017. Boscobel / Gays Mills Kevin Jay Starkey, age 57, passed away at home in Boscobel surrounded by family, on Saturday May 6, 2017, after a short battle with lung cancer. Kevin was born on December 10, 1959 in Cresco, Iowa to Garland and Elvira (Lee) Starkey. He was raised and spent most of his time in and around the Mt. Sterling, Wisconsin area. He graduated from Seneca High School and later attended Southwest Technical College in Fennimore. Kevin loved spending time with his family, and especially his daughter Breanna. He was an avid Packers and Badger fan who enjoyed watching football with his family and friends. Kevin is survived by: his daughter Breanna Rae Hardy-Starkey of Blue River WI, his brothers Randy (Susan) Starkey of Seneca and Rick (Janie) Starkey of Coon Valley, his sister Shari (Corey) Neuroth of Fennimore, a sister-in-law Penney Starkey and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his grandparents Rudolph (Agnes) Lee and Fay (Lenora) Starkey, his parents Garland and Elvira, and two brothers Ron Starkey and Brian Starkey and a sister-in-law Sheila Starkey. Funeral services for Kevin will be Friday May 12, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Pastor Lynn Schreck will officiate with burial following the service at the Utica Church Cemetery, Hwy 27, in Utica. Friends may call during a visitation from 10:00 until 12:00 noon before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers or plants memorials are preferred.
