Kim Fossum, 55 of Viroqua, died Sunday, October 09, 2011. Kim L. Fossum, 55 of Viroqua, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Kim was born on October 5, 1956 in Rushford, MN, to Llewellyn and Dian (Malmin) Fossum. Kim started working at the age of 15 for Hoffs Mobile until he finished high school. He attended Western Technical College where he learned to weld. Kim was a talented welder and fabricator and worked at Marks Manufacturing, Mike Erickson Construction, Howard Johnsons and most recently Cummins Filtration. On July 20, 1991 he was united in marriage to Kay Jacobson and they made their home in Viroqua. Kim was so proud of his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews always making time for them. He also enjoyed his work and in his spare time was always working on a new welding project. When he wasnt working or playing with his grandchildren he could be found shooting pool, rooting for the Green Bay Packers, or fishing. Kim is survived by his loving wife Kay; step-children Kamille (Jeff) Tilson, La Crosse, Kelli (Chris) Schultz, Viroqua, Stacey (Christopher) Chen, Ft. Lauderdale FL; Grandchildren; Wynne (Shawn), Amanda, Macy, Kyle, Kalia; mother Dian Fossum; sisters Karrie (Scott) Schroeder, Kristi (David) Pappas; brother Timothy; nieces and nephews Alex Schroeder, Ashley McRill, Anthony, Michael and Joseph Pappas; special Aunt and Godmother LaVaughn (Regis) Nolan; mother-in-law Mae Jacobson. He was preceded in death by father; his sister Karla; father-in-law Kenneth Jacobson; and sister-in-law Beverly Miller.The family would like to send a heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Oettel; clinic nurses Jana, Becky, Paige and also to the staff of Vernon Memorial Hospice. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Reverends Lindsay Paul Jordan and Margaret Eiben Hoversten will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
