Kjellaug Andrea Thompson

Kjellaug Andrea Thompson, age 95, of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born on April 15, 1930, in Hafslo, Norway. She had a happy childhood with her family. In 1954, she came to visit the Folsom area in Vernon County to visit her cousins. As fate would have it, she met her future husband on this trip, Paul Thompson. They married on August 13, 1955. She and Paul farmed on the family farm their entire lives. She enjoyed working alongside Paul doing the various farm work tasks and gardening. She was active in the Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church and was known for her wonderful cookies.

Survivors include her sister, Astrid (Jon) Boe; her brother-in-law, Kjell Neset; her daughters, Mary (Bill) Iverson and Diane Roska; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy (Lindsay) Iverson, Jenifer (Mitch) Rindy, Kari (Brian Liebenstein) Gordinier, Amy Gordinier, Emily (Ben) Cassel, and Brianne (Gavin) Binger; her great-grandchildren, Kade Hustad, Wyatt and Ella Rindy, Elliot, Maeve, Dax and Marley Binger, Ava Iverson, Molly and Max Frisch, Chase and Cole Libenstein; many nieces and nephews; and good friends, Kent and Renee Salmon.

Kjellaug was preceded in death by her mother, Elina Skjerven; her husband, Paul Thompson; her brothers, Konrad Skjerven and Arthur (Uni) Skjerven; her sister, Erna Neset; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Leona Chellevold, Art and Clara Saegrove, Laurence and Eunice Peterson; and nephews, Rodney Saegrove, Roger Chellevold, and James Peterson.

Memorials are appreciated to the Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church, North Crawford Rescue Squad, or the Gays Mills Food Pantry.

A Funeral Service for Kjellaug will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
