Larry L. Bolster, age 76, of DeSoto, died Wednesday April 19, 2017. Larry L. Bolster, age 76, of DeSoto, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI Larry was born on April 9, 1941 at the farmstead in Coulee Valley in Wisconsin to Arthur and Clara (Cox) Bolster. He was a graduate of DeSoto High School. After going on to some trade schools, Larry went on to become a railroad/track welder for Burlington-Northern. Larry wasnt all work, though. Larry had lots of interests starting with his lifetime membership in the "Lasting Legends Car Club" his love for car racing, especially NASCAR and #3 Dale Earnhart Jr.. Grandpa Larry or Bumpa as he was affectionately called by some, loved to watch his sons and grandson race at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. He really loved the fact that all of his children and grandkids got involved in the outdoors from the racing to horseback riding and bull riding to hunting or fishing and enjoyed spending all of these times and more spent with family. Larrys family included two very special companions Maggie and Wolfe pronounced wolvie, and included his backyard feeding friends, his deer, his rabbits and his very well cared for squirrels. He married Carol who is mother to Larry and Jason, and whom later divorced. He also had a lengthy relationship with Sue and is the father also of Joseph Woyczik. He then shared 14 wonderful loving years with Geraldine Geri Ames until she preceded him in death. After that he was married for four years to Janet Stearns and Nancy Soulli had been a very special friend these last years. Surviving Larry are his children and step-children: Larry Bolster, Jason Bolster, Joe Woyczik, Vickie (Gary) Kumlin, Phillip (Karla) Ames, Maxine Woodhouse, Lisa (Brad) Willie and Steven (Doreen McCarty) Ames; 10 grandchildren: Jason (Lacy) Stark, Callie Willie, Zach Ames, Andrea Johnson, and Jesse, Casey and Jeremy Woodhouse(s) and Jon, Katie and Kris (Alicia) Ames. Also surviving are: seven great-grandchildren Austin, Ryleigh, Raeson, Kolton and Novan Stark(s), Brantley Woodhouse and Andrew Hanson; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers: Donald and Robert; and sister, Pauline Arnold. Funeral Services for Larry will be Monday April 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main St. in Westby. Jeff Burrows will officiate and burial will follow the service to Walnut Mound Cemetery near Retreat WI. Friends may call during a visitation at the Funeral Home, 708 S. Main St. in Westby, on Sunday April 23, 2017 from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M., and Monday morning from 10:00-11:00 AM before the service. In lieu of flowers or plants memorials are preferred for future consideration.
