VIROQUA Larry O. McGarry, age 82, died Thursday November 3, 2016 at Vernon Manor in Viroqua. Larry O. McGarry, age 82 of Viroqua, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. He was born on May 16, 1934 in Viroqua to Fred and Beulah (Florand) McGarry. On February 14, 1953 he was united in marriage to Annabel Arneson. He owned and operated his own canned milk route before working 32 years for the Viroqua Telephone Company, retiring in January of 1994. Larry was a member of the Viroqua United Methodist Church and Viroqua Eagles. He loved to golf and play cards. He and Annabel traveled in their R.V. and explored almost all of the Lewis and Clark Trail. In addition to his wife, Annabel, he is survived by one daughter, Rachel (Charles) Turben of Winona and one son, Matt McGarry of Viroqua; three grandchildren: Kami, Dawn and Casey; six great-grandchildren: Dustin, Dylan, Konner, Mattea, Mia, and Joel; two brothers, Michael and Conrad; three sisters: Donna, Harriet, and Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joel in 2007 and brother-in-law, Thomas Arneson in 2012; one sister, Shirley who died at a young age. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Viroqua United Methodist Church. Pastor Jean Waldron will officiate with burial in the Brush Hollow Cemetery. A visitation will be held at church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the Brush Hollow Cemetery or the Viroqua United Methodist Church.
