Laura E. Bown

Laura Etta Bown, age 91, of Soldiers Grove, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020. She was born September 25, 1928 to Earl and Olive (McCullick) Turk. Laura married Lyle Bown May 10, 1947. She had two children: Peggy (William) Zink, Holmen and Danny Bown, La Crosse; two granddaughters: Kimberly Schliebe (Gus Eberhardt) and Connie (Barry) Hansen; two great-grandsons: Ryan Schliebe (fiancé Elana Stendel and her son, Jesse) and Deniska Schliebe. Laura was preceded in death by her husband Lyle and siblings: Deward (Cleo) Turk; Walter "Jim" (Clarice) Turk; Gwendolyn (George) Smith and Darlene (Ray) Hayden; sister-in-law Florence (Clifford) Erlandson; many nieces and nephews. She lived her entire life in the Gays Mills area where she worked in the apple orchards and as an apartment manager. A private graveside service will be held at the Gays Mills Cemetery.
