Leif E. Flugstad

Fremont, CA. / WESTBY Leif E. Flugstad of Fremont, CA passed away peacefully Sept 5, 2016. Leif was born December 21, 1932, the son of Hubert and Emily Flugstad of Westby. Leif attended Westby High School in the late 40s and he attended Luther College. After which he spent 2 years active duty in the Navy. While in high school, college and Navy he was very active in music playing the flute in the concert bands. Leif was married once producing a son and daughter. Leif had a stroke in 2007 and has been in a nursing care facility. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, and sister Swanhild Dobaj. Leif is survived by daughter Carolyn; son Arn; brother Rolf; Aunt Naomi and cousins, Dean, Gloria, Robert, Sylvia, and Mary. A gravesite ceremony will be at the Westby Coon Prairie Cemetery at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 22, 2016. Pastor Julie Wollman of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church will officiate. The family invites all friends to attend. In lieu of flowers or plants memorials to the Westby High School Norse Fund or a charity of the donors choice is preferred.
