Leland "Lee" Hutchison

Leland G. Hutchison, known affectionately as Lee to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, in Viroqua, at the age of 86. Born on June 1, 1938, in Sugar Grove, Wisconsin, Lee was a man whose presence was characterized by warmth, friendliness, and thoughtfulness throughout his life.

Lee was a graduate of Readstown High School, where he formed the foundation of his lifelong love for learning and community involvement. His career was deeply rooted in the dairy science business, a field to which he dedicated his entire professional life. His work not only reflected his commitment to his profession but also his love for the agricultural community he served.

Those who knew Lee will remember him as a loving husband, father, and stepfather. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sharon Hutchison; his children, Carmin (Jeff) Dederich, Craig Hutchison, and CoLynn Hutchison; stepchildren, Mark (Trisha) Libansky, Matthew (Juanita) Libansky, and Michael (Teresa) Libansky; and several nieces and nephews.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Merlin (Leona) Hutchison

Beyond his family and work, Lee had a passion for life's simple pleasures. He loved his dogs, which were his constant companions and brought him immeasurable joy. Lee and his wife lived full time in Alabama in their RV for ten years, embracing the freedom and adventure that retirement afforded them. This period of his life was marked by exploration, relaxation, and the creation of cherished memories.
