Lenny Lakatos

Lenny Lakatos, age 55 of Westby, died Saturday, December 19, 2009. Leonard "Lenny" Lakatos, age 55 of Westby, died from congestive heart failure on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the William S. Middleton V.A. Center in Madison after a 2 week stay. He was born on January 16, 1954 in Racine to Louis and Mary (Kovach) Lakatos. Lenny served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver most of his life. Lenny moved to this area in 1992 and on August 21, 1999 was united in marriage to Martha Evenstad. In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by one son, Tom Lakatos of North Carolina; one daughter, Jeanette (Beau) Burlingame of Milwaukee; three grandchildren: Darwin, Barrett and Christian; his siblings: Doreen of Racine, Gerard (Robin) of Racine, Mike (Karen) of Mercer, Vincent (Tammie) of Menomonie, and Cathie of Mercer; brother-in-law, Mike (Connie) Evenstad; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother and one brother, Tom. Private funeral services will be held. Burial with military rites will be in the Bloomingdale Cemetery. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
