Lenora P. Robinson, age 85 of Viroqua, died Thursday evening, May 4, 2006 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua where she had been a resident since January of 2004. She was born on her grandparents farm in West Virginia on September 3, 1920 to Edward and Beatrice (Wilson) Tinnell. Her mother died as a result of a house fire in 1932. Lenora graduated from Masontown, W. Va. High School and from the nursing school at Fairmont General Hospital. As an R.N., her career varied from surgical and industrial nursing to public health and her favorite, school nurse for the Viroqua Area Schools. On November 6, 1943 she married D. Parks Robinson at the First Ave. Methodist Church in Fairmont, W. Va. In 1958 she and Parks started WISV (now WVRQ) Radio in Viroqua. In 1967 they added WGBM (now WVRQ-FM). Lenora "Nora" was a member of Viroqua United Methodist Church and enjoyed travel and time spent on the Mississippi River. She is survived by one son, David (Jane) Robinson of Viroqua; two daughters: Rebecca (Thomas) Romenesko, of Santee, CA, Sarah "Cassie" (Paul) James of Fishers, IN; six grandchildren: Jeffrey (Joanna) Robinson of LaCrosse, Jeanna (Craig) Kunce of Winona, MN, Sarah (Ken) Grosskreutz of El Cajon, CA; Todd (Becky) Romenesko, Laurel (Greg) Jackson of Rogers, AR, and Julie (Kevin) Pike of Maple Grove, MN; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Mollohan of Tiffin, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her husband, Parks Robinson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Viroqua United Methodist Church. Pastor Ethan Larson will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to American Red Cross or to the family for a future nursing scholarship. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
