Leroy B. Haugen

LeRoy B. Haugen, age 76 of Westby, died Friday evening, December 1, 2006 at the Parkside Care Center in Little Chute, Wisconsin where he had resided for a little over a month. He was born on November 17, 1930 to Adolph and Mabel (Dunnum) Haugen. LeRoy was a truck drive and had worked for Sloane Bros. for many years. On May 4, 1957 he was united in marriage to Betty (Eklund) in Tennessee. LeRoy and Betty had lived in Colorado, Arizona, Texas and South Carolina before returning to Westby in 1977. Following Bettys death, LeRoy moved to be closer to his son, Craig. He is survived by his children: Craig (Kitty) Haugen of Little Chute, Wisconsin, Pamela Weakley of Appleton, Wisconsin and Randy Podals of Honolulu, Hawaii; one granddaughter, Taylor Haugen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty on February 29, 2004; a son-in-law, James Weakley; one brother, Jordahl Haugen; and two sisters: Norma Wangen and Minerva Bjorge. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at the Westby United Methodist Church. Pastor George Shick will officiate with burial in the Pleasant View Methodist Cemetery, rural Westby. Friends may call on Tuesday after 12:30 p.m. at the church. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
