Lila B. Miller, age 83 of Cashton, died Friday, December 14, 2007 Lila B. Miller, age 83 of Cashton, died Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. She was born on August 6, 1924 to Clifford and Bernice (Parr) DeWitt. She graduated from Westby High School in 1942. On January 4, 1946 she was united in marriage to Arvo L. "Bud" Miller. They farmed his fathers farm until 1955 when they purchased their present farm where she has lived until Thursday, Dec. 13th when she entered the Norseland Nursing Home. Lila had worked in the nursing field at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua and the old County Home which is now Vernon Manor Nursing Home. She was an active member of Dell United Methodist Church and had taught Sunday School and was a member of the Spaeth-Dickman Cashton VFW Auxiliary Post 8584. She also worked at Grandmas Attic in Dell. Lila was the "Avon Lady" for many years. She enjoyed scrap-booking; playing cards with friends and grandchildren and enjoyed putting puzzles together and watching the birds, keeping the feeders full. Her dog Vegas kept her company since her husband passed away. She is survived by her children: Lori (Steve) Schmitz of rural Cashton, David (Susan) Miller of Westby and Steven (Anne) Miller of Cashton; five grandchildren: Christopher (Angela) Forde of Chaseburg, David Miller of Cashton, Michael (Trisha) Miller of Westby, Jacob Miller of Cashton, Samantha Miller (Greg Pedretti) of Westby; eight great-grandchildren: four siblings: Alice Thompson of Readstown, Carol (A. Blaine) Rudrud and Ann (LeRoy) Manke, both of Westby; and Doug (Linda) DeWitt of Rapid City, ILL; a sister-in-law, Maxine Hendrickson of Viroqua; nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Arvo, on October 13, 2004; brother-in-law, LaVern ThompsonBlessed be our memory of Lila. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dell United Methodist Church. Pastor Karen Bankes will officiate with burial in the Dell Cemetery Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday after 12:00 noon. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
