Lillian M. Lil Fladhammer

Lillian (Lil) M. Fladhammer, age 83, formerly of Coon Valley and Westby, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Bethany Riverside Care Center in LaCrosse. Lillian was born on April 17, 1923 in Vernon Co. to Melvin and Anna (Carlson) Hanson. She grew up in and around the Westby area. On October 30, 1940 she married Thillman "Tim" Fladhammer. They farmed in the Westby area for many years. After retiring from farming, they owned and operated the Fjord Bar in Coon Valley. Lillian was noted for her musical talent. She, her daughter, and other performers entertained at many locations in the area. Survivors include five children: Loretta (Tom) Bailey of McFarland, WI, Margaret Sordahl of Hendersonville, TN, Tilman Jr. (Elsie) of Westby, David (Jane) of New Prague, MN, and Sandra "Sue" (Bob) Greener of Houston, MN; two sisters: Verna Holte of Coon Valley and Doris Larson of Westby; one brother, Raymond (Caroline) Hanson of Viroqua; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and many more relatives and friends. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Aline Holte; and one brother, Orville Hanson. We would like to thank all the staff of the Light House at Bethany Riverside. Lillian was noted for her smile, and the staff kept her smiling as she was given all the special, loving care and attention. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastors Gary Daines and Norman Rose will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call after 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the church. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
