Lillian Ruth Polski, 89 of Viroqua, formerly Denver, CO, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Lillian Ruth Polski, 89 of Viroqua, formerly Denver, CO, died Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Bethel Home in Viroqua. Lillian, the oldest of four sisters, was born in St. Louis, MO to Martha and Sam Pamatat on May, 21, 1922. Much of her childhood was spent on a farm near Collinsville, Ill and later in the town of Collinsville. She attended secretarial school prior to WWII. During WWII, she worked at Edison Electric in St. Louis. She helped all of her sisters morally and financially attend college. In 1944, Lillian moved to Denver, CO where she met her husband Bob Polski. They were married in 1948. She worked for Time Life Magazine and later for U.S. Fish and Wildlife. Lillian had two children; Jane Siemon of Viroqua, WI, and Michael Polski, M.D. of Cleburne, TX. She has 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Lillian liked to care for others and was a volunteer for Catholic Community Services for over 10 years. She was a faithful letter writer typing weekly letters to her children and sisters. She loved children, baking, sewing and flowers. Lillian and Bob moved to Viroqua in July 2011 to be near family. Bob currently resides in Viroqua. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 2011, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua with burial to follow at the Viroqua Cemetery. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
