Linda Carol Nehls, age 77, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday February 21, 2019 at Vernon Manor Nursing Home.Conrad, her beloved husband was present for her departure. Linda was born November 14, 1941 to the late Leonard and Cleo (Halverson) Klahn. Linda was baptized and later confirmed into her Christian faith at Viroqua Evangelical Lutheran Church. She graduated from Viroqua High School, Class of 60, then went on to attend La Crosse School of Beauty obtaining her beauticians license in 1961. Lindas professional life included working; lifelong on the family dairy farm, as a beautician in West Salem WI, on the line at Highlandale Christian Plaque factory in Rockland WI, a teachers aide for Viroqua Daycare Center and as a professional dog groomer and breeder of Australian Shepherds. Linda grew up surrounded by extended family outside of Viroqua WI on Belgium Ridge Road. It was this farm life that started Lindas love of nature, animals, fishing and gardening. While an active member of Belgium Builders 4-H Club, Linda became an avid showgirl of cows and horses. It was while showing registered Holsteins at the Wisconsin State Fair that she met her husband of 57 years. They married October 28, 1961 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. They continued to share their passions; for showing registered cows, horses and for following the Green Bay Packers, while always maintaining their love for family. It was during her leadership in the 4-H horse program that Linda developed a life-long friendship with Cindy Schomberg Bowling Gardner, who became like a fourth daughter to her. Linda loved watching her three daughters grow in their Christian faith, professional careers, and families. She spread her love to her four grandchildren through "deep conversations", fishing, gardening, and special cookie jars. Grandma Lindas heart warmed with; every card, visit, homemade gift, and each phone call the grandkiddos gave her. Lindas advice, her creative artistic talent, her special candy Easter eggs, her circus birthday cakes, paintings, drawings, stories and jewelry pins will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
