Linda M. Johnson

January 28, 1954 — November 27, 2021

Linda M. Johnson, age 67, of La Farge, went to be with the Lord on November 27, 2021, at Gundersen-Lutheran in La Crosse. She was born January 28, 1954, to Gervis and RosaLea (Barrett) Campton at their home in La Farge. Linda graduated from La Farge High School in 1972, and married Mark Meboe in La Farge. Together they celebrated 25 years of marriage and three children: Isaac, Lessa, and David. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Madison where she took care of her children and worked as a receptionist at a dental office. After a year, they moved to Cross Plains, where she started her own certified in-home daycare. Linda and Mark moved to Mt. Horeb, where they bought their home that had plenty of room for her daycare children. Linda married Robert “Bruce” Johnson in 2003, and moved to Viroqua where they bought their house. Bruce passed away in 2005, and Linda continued to live in Viroqua until recently when she moved into her own place in Richland Center. She was really loving her home there as she was able to restore the place to what she wanted. Linda had a love for ceramics, painting, and going to the pool. She was known for having many plants around the house. Linda had a passion for cooking and baking, especially trying new recipes; her signature recipe was Seven Layer Salad. She loved her family, trying to spend every holiday with them. Linda always had a garden, if she had the space for it, and she certainly had the green thumb to go with it. She was also known for being a beautiful seamstress, having made a couple of relatives' wedding dresses. Ho-Chunk Casino in Wisconsin Dells was a place that Linda liked to spend time as well. She also had a love for the Lord, working to make every Sunday service that she could. Linda will be greatly remembered for being very kind and giving; she would do things for others before herself. Her wit and beautiful smile will be greatly missed by so many. Linda is survived by her children: Isaac (Nicole) Meboe, Lessa Meboe, and David Meboe; grandchildren: Ethan, Hayden, and Bella Meboe, Isabella and Evanton Meboe; great-grandchildren: Daizy and Hudson; her siblings: Dorie (fiancé Terry) Peterson, Ed (Ann) Campton, Elizabeth (Richard) Ryan, Duane (Sherrie) Campton, Louise Becker, and Christine Haak; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, Bruce Johnson; two brothers, Roy and Jimmie Campton; and her grandparents. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 10, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the La Farge Free Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. A lunch will be held after the service and Linda will be laid to rest at Bear Creek Cemetery afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are appreciated.
