Listen to Obituary

Lisa Jo Palmer, age 61, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 23rd, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on October 24th, 1964, in Winfield, Illinois, she lived a life defined by kindness, strength, and devotion to others. She proudly served soldiers and their families through her work at Fort McCoy in Tomah, Wisconsin. Caring for others was not simply her profession... it was who she was.

After relocating from the Chicagoland area to Wisconsin, she found joy in the life she built there with her beloved sister Laura. She loved tending to her gardens, caring for her animals, maintaining her property, and spending time on her front porch taking in the beauty of the countryside. She cherished her family canoe trip, kayaking, family traditions, and cheering on her beloved Chicago Cubs and Chicago sports teams.

Her greatest pride and deepest joy were her children and grandchildren. Being “Grandma” was one of the roles she treasured most, and the memories she created with her family will be carried forward for generations. She also held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, who brought her immense joy and whom she loved dearly.

She was known for her warm smile, infectious laugh, and ability to make everyone feel welcome. Dependable, selfless, and endlessly caring, she was the person family and friends could always count on. In her later years, she enjoyed the companionship of Mike, along with the love of many dear friends and family members.

Lisa always put on a brave face with a smile and focused on caring for those she loved. Her quiet strength and unwavering resilience were an inspiration to all who knew her and carried her until the end.

She is survived by her children, Danial (Michelle) Chapman, Sarah (Michael) Crow, Kendra Berglund, and Christofer Bauer; her beloved grandchildren, Lilly, Kayla, Aidan, Danial Jr., Jase, Silas, Hadassah, and Evangelina; her siblings, Dennis, Pat, Kris, and Laura; her cherished nieces and nephews and cousins who were very special to her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan; her father, George; her brother, Ed; and her beloved Aunt Jean.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, generosity, and family. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the traditions she created, the lives she touched, and the countless people who were blessed to know her.
