Lloyd Arthur Meyer

Lloyd Arthur Meyer, July 2, 2005 Lloyd Arthur Meyer, age 81 of Westby, died early Saturday morning, July 2, 2005 at the Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. He was born on January 28, 1924 in Vernon County, Wisconsin to Soren and Mattie (Natwick) Meyer. He served overseas in the U.S. Armed Forces from 1944 to 1946 during WWII with the 101st Airborne Division. He was a life member of the Syverson-Funk American Legion Post #155 and the Westby V.F.W. Following his service in the military, Lloyd worked in the western states and then entered farming with his brother near Westby. He retired from farming in 1978 and did carpenter work until 1990. He was a lifetime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby and had also served on the church council. Lloyd is survived by two brothers: Leonard Myer and Arnold Meyer, both of Westby; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mary and Clifford Bakkum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Lidvig, Alice, Myrtle, John, Julia, Tilmer, Selmer and Martin and Sylvia.
