Lois Olson

Lois Olson, 78, of Westby died Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Lois L. Olson, age 78 of Westby, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Gundersen Lutheran in LaCrosse. She was born on July 23, 1931 in Viroqua to Ingvald and Alma (Peterson) Larson. On December 4, 1954 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Olson in Iowa. Lois worked as a nurses aide at Vernon Manor in Viroqua, for 30 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church and was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and D.A.V. She is survived by her six children: Linda Helgerson of LaCrosse, Susan Reismann of Winona, MN, Michael (Janna) Olson of Cashton, Cheryl Clayton of Wyoming, Sandra Olson of Westby and Rodney Olson of New Richmond; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth on April 10, 1992; one grandson, Tremain; two sons-in-law: Karl Reismann and Jack Helgerson; three brothers: Chris and Clifford Larson and Harold Gorder; four sisters: Darlene Grams, Doris Deloris Welshire, Hazel Mills and Beverly Jackson. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Viroqua Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Hallemeier officiating. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
