Lola Krachel, age 90 of Holmen, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Lola Krachel, age 90 of Holmen, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Onalaska Care Center. She was born on September 16, 1924 in LaCrosse to Storm A. and Hilda P. (Holter) Gilbertson. She graduated from LaCrosse Teachers College and taught at Sunny Brook in Barre Mills. She met the love of her life while dancing at the Avalon Ball Room in LaCrosse and on June 14, 1947 she and Arnold V. Krachel were married at Holmen Lutheran Church. For over 20 years she sold Avon and had also enjoyed working at Doerflingers Department Store. She was a member of the Holmen Lutheran Church, the W-ELCA, and Homemakers. She is survived by her two daughters: Teresa (David) Kasten of Lake Delton and Betty (Randy) Dahlen of Westby; five grandchildren: Kristofer (Ali Schoen) Kasten, Kory (Ashley) Dahlen, Todd Kasten, Karlee (Tom) Wallin and Cody Kasten; four great-grandchildren: Elise, Ava, Gwyneth and Luka; one sister-in-law, Alvina Krachel; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arnold V. Krachel; brother-in-law, Fredrick "Fritz" Krachel. Blessed be our memory of Lola Mae Krachel. Lola "Toots" and Arnie are together again holding hands. The family would like to thank the Onalaska Care Center for their professional and loving care during her final life journey. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holmen Lutheran Church. Pastor Matt Toso will officiate with burial in the Long Coulee Cemetery.
