Loretta Ann ReublinSeptember 21, 2005 Loretta Ann Reublin, age 65 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Viroqua on December 13, 1939 to Henry and Eva (Reagan) Higgins. Loretta graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee in 1958. In addition to preparing tax returns throughout the years, she was a bookkeeper for Ellefson Lime & Gravel, WVRQ, and the Ford Garage, where she met Gale Reublin. Loretta and Gale were married on October 7, 1967 at the United Methodist Church in Liberty Pole and have since resided in Viroqua. Loretta will be remembered for her easy smile and open heart. Despite having polio and being confined to a wheelchair since the age of 15, Loretta always maintained a positive outlook. She always said, "If youve got lemons, you might as well make lemonade." Loretta had a great sense of humor and was never afraid to share it. Baking, playing cards, reading, and visiting with friends kept Loretta busy. She was never idle. Loretta was dedicated to her community and served as the Girl Scout Cookie chairperson for the entire city for several years. In 1992 the Riverland Girl Scout Council honored Loretta as the volunteer of the year. For years she made cranberry relish for the church supper and chili for the church fair stand. The entire Reublin family was honored as the Viroqua family of the year in 1994.
