Lorraine Lawton, 86, of Viola, died Sunday, April 23, 2017. Lorraine (Lieurance) Lawton, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2017, with her daughters by her side. She was born March 4, 1931 to Floyd and Lois (Fowell) Lieurance at the Richland Hospital. On June 1, 1949 she married her high school sweetheart, Wilfred Lawton, in a double wedding ceremony with their great friends, Dwight & Arlene (Peck) Fruit. They were married for 63 years. Lorraine and Wilfred farmed for many years. Lorraine was a stay-at-home mom until the girls were in school. She worked several years for the school lunch department, First National Bank, Allen Bradley, and S&S Cycle. Lorraine was a member of the United Methodist Church of Viola, the Sarah Circle, and the United Methodist Women Association. Lorraine is survived by her four daughters: Lois (Doug) Deckert East Berlin, PA, June (Randy) Williams Viola, WI, Joan (John Fries) Lawton Prairie du Sac, WI, and Lori (Jack) Anderson Prairie du Sac, WI. Extended family includes the Parker family, whom her late husband, Wilfred, grew up with: Lois Barber, Murl (Alice) Parker, Dale (Lola) Parker, June (Jim) Baker, and the late Evan (Sarah Jane) Parker. Lorraine is survived by eight grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred, in August 2012 and an infant son, James Allen in September 1956. Also preceding her in death were her parents, sisters Louise Dhein and Gwendlyn Hendricks, brother Harold Lieurance, sister-in-law Beth Kruesel, and brother-in-law Donald Lawton. Funeral Services will be held at 3p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Viola United Methodist Church. Pastor Larry Stegall will officiate with burial to follow in the Viola Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Online Condolences may be offered at www.VossFH.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Viola United Methodist Church, Viola Cemetery Association, or Vernon Memorial Hospice Program. The Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Center is assisting the family.
