VIROQUA Lorraine Tryggestad, age 88, died Tuesday July 18, 2017 at Bland Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care in Viroqua. Lorraine Hope Tryggestad, age 88, of Viroqua, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017. She was born on August 30, 1928 to Anton and Ruby (Wilson) Henden. Lorraine graduated from Viroqua High School and Vernon County Normal School. She married Merlin Tryggestad on June 30, 1948. They lived in La Farge where Merlin made cheese and Lorraine taught school at Jug Creek. During their lives, they lived on Chaseburg ridge, at Petticoat Junction and near Bud outside of Viroqua. Lorraine was a great baker of pies, a gardener and loved time with her family. Her family is thankful for her care and love. She is survived by her children, Debra Tryggestad of La Farge, Mark (Terrie) Tryggestad of Amery, Kathryn (Cameron) Bergendorff of Evanston, IL, and, Janet Sherry-Pericak (David) of Chaseburg: grandchildren: Mike (Jen) Tryggestad of Denver, Colorado, Jennifer Bergendoff of Evanston, IL, Cameron (Niccola) Bergendorff of Oceanside, CA., Mat (Jackie) Tryggestad of Edina, Minnesota, Tanner Tryggestad of Grafton, Wisconsin, Kayla Tryggestad of Grafton, Wisconsin: four great-grandchildren: Kaia, Nora, Miles and Lucy; one brother, Dwain (Alice) Henden, one brother-in-law, Beuford Olson; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and her son-in-law, Arthur Sherry. Funeral Services for Lorraine will be Friday July 21, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Viroqua at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Ray Matteson will officiate with burial at the Viroqua Cemetery immediately following the service. Friends may call during a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers or plants memorials may be directed to the Bland Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care.
