Luanne Marie Goplin

Luanne Marie Goplin, 81, of Gays Mills, died Thursday, October 13, 2022, after several long illnesses. She was born December 19, 1940, in Boscobel, WI, to Lawrence J. Everson and Ethel Marie Gunderson Everson. Luanne was the youngest of four children.

Luanne graduated from Blue River High School in 1958, and following graduation worked at the Boscobel State Bank in Blue River. Luanne married Wayne Goplin on April 4, 1959, at the United Methodist Church at Blue River, WI. In 1960, Luanne and Wayne moved to Platteville, WI where Luanne worked for several years at the Mound City Bank. In 1970, they moved to Janesville, WI. There, Luanne was bookkeeper at Anderson’s Men’s and Women’s Clothing Stores for several years. She later was bookkeeper for Burger King restaurants in Janesville and La Crosse. Luanne was a member of the Immanuel Free Methodist Church in Janesville. She was the church pianist and choir director. Luanne and Wayne served as Youth Directors for several years. Luanne was an accomplished piano player and song writer. She played the piano and traveled with the Oracles Quartet for many years. She opened up Norskhaven Coffee and Gift Shoppe at Gays Mills in 1989 and remained open until the Covid epidemic and her illnesses forced her to close the door and she was unable to reopen.

Luanne was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ethel Everson; and siblings Gordon Everson, Carlos Everson, Margorie Everson and an infant son.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne; three children, Penny (Jay) Mansur, David (Janet) Goplin, and Dan Goplin (Jeff); 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Luanne loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed being with them when she could and especially when they called her on FaceTime. She is also survived by her lifetime friend, Betty Wetter.

A Funeral and Celebration of Luanne’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the BMZ United Methodist Church in Boscobel, WI. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Blue River Cemetery later in the day. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
