Lucille Jacobson, 81, of Viroqua, died Saturday, September 27, 2014 Lucille Alma Jacobson, 81 of Viroqua, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Bland Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care in Viroqua. She was born on October 2, 1932 on the family farm rural Viroqua to Ludvig and Anna (Jacobson) Nelson. She was a 1950 graduate of Readstown High School. On August 3, 1952 she married Daniel R. (Dick) Jacobson at Main Street Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Dick and Lucille made their first home in Muscoda where Dick was a Tri-State Breeders technician. Dick and Lucille farmed on Asbury Ridge from 1960 until 1971. In 1971 they moved into the home they built in Viroqua. In 2013 Lucille retired as the Assistant Director at McIntosh Memorial Library after thirty-four years of service. Dick passed away on September 1, 2011. Lucille enjoyed a great slice of pie, loved a good homemade donut and going dancing with Dick. Lucille is survived by her children Daniel (Susan), Lori Hanson and Lynn (John) Slattery; grandchildren, Ann (Adam) McDowell, Jenna (Christopher) Henshue, John Jacobson, Jamie (Peter) Gudgeon, Brendan and Kaitlyn Slattery; great grandchildren Cullen and Lauren McDowell; brother Marvin (Jean) Nelson and sister Aleda (LaVerne) Sherry. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Slattery, sisters Doris Nelson (in childhood), Ruby Larson Fradette and Margaret Simonson, brothers Lawrence Nelson (in infancy) and Arnold Nelson. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Pastor Steven Minnema will officiate with burial to follow in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 1pm till the time of Service at 2. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
