Lynden Mcclurg

Lynden Harry McClurg, age 83 of Westby, died on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI. He was born on Pleasant Ridge on May 11, 1923 on the family farm to Harry and Viva (Jennings) McClurg. In 1929 at the age of six, he moved to the current farm. He attended Smith School until 8th grade and graduated from Viroqua High School. He was an FFA member, raised Duroc hogs and registered Guernsey cattle. For 48 years he was married to Betty Hass; then they divorced. Lynden enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Viroqua Church of Christ since July 5, 1936. Lynden is survived by four children: Marlene Stueland of Hewitt, WI; Dennis McClurg of Rockford, IL; Kathy McClurg of Ft. Collins, CO; and Brian (Linda) McClurg of Westby, WI. He is further survived by grandchildren: Brooke, Kyle, Jeffrey, Michael, Nancy, Kevin, Karla, Kelly, Victoria, and Vatricia; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Verlyn; and son-in-law, Dean Stueland. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Viroqua Church of Christ. Nathan Prong, minister, will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 South Hwy 14, Westby and on Friday from 10 11 a.m. at the church. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
