Mabel B. Olson, 98, of Soldier's Grove/Mount Sterling, died Saturday, September 22, 2012 SOLDIERS GROVE, MOUNT STERLINGMabel B. Olson, 98, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Home, Soldiers Grove. She was born on September 13, 1914, on the home farm in the Township of Utica, Crawford County, Wisconsin, to Tobias and Anna (Thompson) Olson. She attended grade school in Johnstown Valley and graduated from Gays Mills High School. She was a lifetime member of Mount Sterling Lutheran Church, involved in Ladies Aid and Circle, a member of the Mount Sterling Old Kids Club, and Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, volunteering at Sannes Skogdalen and Sugar Creek Bible Camp. Mabel spent much of her lifetime caring for loved ones. She had a love for flowers, enjoyed reading, crossword-type puzzles, was a very competitive Skip-bo card player, and took great pleasure in having family and friends in for coffee, snacks, or a meal. She was a special lady to many. Mabel will be dearly missed. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Lewis (Gladys) Olson and Alvin Olson; sister Barbara (Albert) Iverson; nephews Gary Olson, Roger Olson, and Arlen Iverson; niece Gloria (Charles) Dagnon; great-nephew Ricky Hermann, and great-niece Julie Olson. She is survived by sister-in-law Nora Olson; nephews and nieces Sandra Rae, Tim (Susan) Olson, Ann (David) Quamme, Sandra (Larry) Anderson, Dean (Cindy) Sherry, Anna Marie Olson, Joyce Iverson, and Wanda Everson; and many great and great-great nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2012, at Mount Sterling Lutheran Church, Mount Sterling, WI. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Vosseteig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
