Mabel Louise Offerdahl Thurin

Mabel Louise (Offerdahl) Thurin, age 82, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2005 Mabel Louise (Offerdahl) Thurin, age 82, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. She was born January 15, 1923 to James and Anna (Nelson) Offerdahl in the town of Viroqua, Vernon County and attended Round Prairie and Viroqua High School. Mabel was baptized by Rev. L. Hammer and confirmed by Rev. O.M. Kleven in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she was a life-time member. She was united in marriage to Raymond Thurin and to this union were born two daughters: Marilyn Goldenberg (Dr. Edward) of Seattle, WA and Linda Beale (John) of Madison; and four sons: David (Mary Ann), Steven (Jane), Gerald (Candi), and Jeff Thurin, all of Viroqua. She is survived by her husband, Raymond; her children; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence (Avis) Offerdahl of Boscobel; one sister, Mallie (Alvin) Gald of Viroqua; four sisters-in-law, Arlene Johnson of Viroqua, Doris Erickson of Viroqua, Shirley Thurin of Twin Lakes, and Elaine Broadhead of St. Paul, MN; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Otis and Albon Offerdahl and one sister, Bretha Offerdahl. Blessed be her memory.
