Mae Crume, age 85 of Westby, died Monday, January 24, 2011. Mae A. Crume, age 85 of Westby, died Monday, January 24, 2011. She was born on August 24, 1925 to Robert and Allis (Lien) Jacobson. On March 15, 1947 she was united in marriage to Howard Crume, Jr. at the Methodist Church in Viroqua. Mae had attended Normal School and had taught country school about the time she was married. Mae and Howard were members of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church and Mae was a member of the WELCA and she enjoyed collecting dolls. She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Greg) Voss of LaCrescent, MN; her son, Randy (Karen) Crume of Viroqua; seven grandchildren: Jason (Leah) Crume, Jaime (Jeff) Swenson, Jeremy (Inga) Voss, Heather (Troy) Oldenburg, Valerie (Jon) Hemp, Nicole (Tom Welch) and Chase Crume; six great-grandchildren: Lexi and Brett Crume, Kaylee and Morgan Swenson, Vincent Voss, and Violet Oldenburg; daughter-in-law, Peggy Crume; seven sisters: Louise Mellem, Fern Larson, JoAnne (Bill) Kadera, Diane (Frank) Kopic, Donna Jacobson, Shirley (Gene) Galstad and Kathy (Gary) Gustafson; three brothers: Donald (Chris) Jacobson, Jim (Kathy) Jacobson, and Robert, Jr. (Debbie) Jacobson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jody on July 16, 1987; her husband, Howard, Jr. on April 22, 1992; two sisters: Linda Kay Jacobson and Elaine Hansen; and one brother, Burton Jacobson. Blessed be our memory of Mae A. Crume. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
