Maebelle Louise (Buros) EnghSeptember 6, 2005 Maebelle Louise (Buros) Engh, age 71, of rural Viroqua died suddenly on Tuesday, September 6th, 2005 doing something she loved: playing cards with friends. She was born on January 22, 1934 in the city of Viroqua to Paul and Helen (Brendum) Buros. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended school at the Cook school in rural Viroqua for eight years and then two years at the Viroqua High School. Maebelle met and later married the love of her life, Eugene Engh on November 10, 1951. They made their home in rural Viroqua where they dairy farmed until 2000. Together they had three children: Carolyn, Steve, and Danny. Maebelle worked at the Viroqua Leaf Tobacco warehouse for 16 years until 1988 and then worked as a rehabilitation specialist for VARC until her time of death. Maebelle was an active member of the VFW Post 3032 and Viroqua Eagles Aerie No. 2707 where she enjoyed playing cards. Maebelle not only loved playing cards with friends, but she also loved to play cards with her children and grandchildren. Maebelle enjoyed camping with her family, playing softball, planting flowers, traveling to South Dakota and Arizona, competing in tobacco stripping contests (which she sometimes won) but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
