Marceille J. Slette, age 94 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Marceille J. Slette, age 94 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016. She was born on March 30, 1922 to Alfred and Margaret (Skrede) Gald. She married Otis Ostrem and together they farmed near Bud. They were married for 25 years until his death. Marceille worked at the Vernon County Asylum for 5 years and then worked at the Bethel Home in Viroqua for 29 years, retiring at age 72. Marceille had married Obert Slette and was married 18 years until his death. She enjoyed her flowers and baking, and was known for her biscuits, pies and cookies. She is survived by two daughters: Cheryl Iverson of Viroqua and Heidi (Jim) Olson of Westby; six grandchildren: David (Heidi) Iverson, Daniel (Gina) Iverson, Melissa Iverson, Thomas Olson, Kjersten (Mitchell) Walleser and Annika Olson; great-grandchildren: Brett (Sara) Iverson, Amanda Iverson, and Jack Iverson; great-great-grandchildren: Aaron and Lincoln Iverson; one sister, Margelyn Gay; sister-in-law, Mallie Gald nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Otis Ostrem and Obert Slette; an infant son, David; her son, Donald; son-in-law, Myron Iverson; brother Alvin Gald; and brother-in-law, Clarence Gay. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church. Pastor Pete Beckstrand will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to the Bethel Lutheran Church or charity of the donors choice.
