Margaret C. Bakken

Margaret C. Bakken, age 97 of Westby died Sunday, March 25, 2007 Margaret Christine (Lovstad) Bakken, age 97 of Westby, WI passed away March 25, 2007 at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby. She was born March 13, 1910 to Karl and Trina (Sinnes) Lovstad. She was united in marriage to Henry Bakken on June 29, 1935. They farmed in the Westby area. Margaret was a member of the WELCA Pricilla Circle and the quilters of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Margaret is survived by her daughter-in-law, Christine; grandchildren: Lynn (Randy) Nelson, Eric (Christine) Bakken, and Karl (Renee) Bakken; four great-grandchildren: Nik, Emily, Rachel and Jacob. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Doris Lovstad and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald on January 18, 2006; three brothers: Julian, Carsten, and Orvin; and sister-in-law, Naomi Lovstad. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call on Wednesday after 9:00 a.m. at the church. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
