Margaret Joan Marge Jeffery

Margaret (Marge) Joan Jeffery, 78, of Viroqua died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 21, 2006. She was born March 28, 1928 in Waite Park, Minnesota to Reuben and Ingeborg (Nelson) Adamson. Marge grew up in Superior, Wisconsin and graduated from Superior State College in 1949. She married James Jeffery in Superior on December 29, 1951. Marge spent much of her professional life in schools and learning environments. She began by teaching in Cumberland, Wisconsin and later taught Library Science in Viroquas Vernon County Teachers College. She was librarian at Viroqua Middle School and High School. She enjoyed her "Cinderella Girls" bridge club and golf. Marge enjoyed and was much appreciated for her artistic pursuits including stained glass, rosemaling and painting. In retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, and family. Marge was a member of the United Methodist Church of Viroqua. She is survived by her husband; one son Jim (Laurie) of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin; two daughters, Sue (Tom) Gordon and Amy (Larry) Kolden, both of Viroqua; five grandchildren, Erik, Megan, Kelsey, Aaron, and Emma; one sister, Dorothy of Long Prairie, Minnesota; one brother, Dick of White Bear Lake, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Norm. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Viroqua United Methodist Church. Pastor Ethan Larson will officiate and friends may call at the church on Tuesday after 1:30 p.m. Memorials are preferred to Hospice, McIntosh Library or Viroqua Methodist Church. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
