Margaret Larson

Margaret Larson, age 97, of Viroqua, died Monday, January 5th, 2026, after a long struggle with Leukemia.

Margaret was born January 18, 1928, at home in rural Readstown to Gerhard and Mabel (Swiggum) Sherry. She graduated from Readstown High School in 1945.

On May 22, 1948, she married Keith Larson. They spent the majority of their 61 years together on the Larson farm in rural Readstown.

She enjoyed music, travel, word-find puzzles and a good cup of coffee and some laughs with friends. She made many quilt tops and enjoyed working with the "quilting crew" at church.

She is survived by her two sons, David (Sarah) Larson of La Farge and Richard (Marilyn) Larson of Oconomowoc; 8 grandchildren; Maria Campbell, Mark (Michelle) Larson, Stephanie Barr, Joeseph Larson, Jimmy and Michael Larson, Andrew (Alycia) Larson and Emily Larson; 11 great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jori Campbell, Adam Barr, Elizabeth (Kyle) Hemmersbach, Wyatt Larson, Cheyenne (Thomas) Twiton, Logan and Ty Larson, Aiden, Amery and Atley Larson; 5 great-great-grandchildren; cousin, Thomas (Marge) Sherry, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009; her parents; her siblings and their spouses; Kathleen (Joseph) Ranallo, Adrian (Sally) Sherry, Louise (John) Sime, Lucille (Kenneth) Erickson, Erling "Pete" (Annette) Sherry, Esther (Virgil) Aspenson; 3 nieces, Kristi (Sherry) Kolb, Cheryl (Ranallo) Mirgai and Jackie Ranallo; an infant great-grandchild, Michael David; and in-laws, Ralph and Pearl Larson, Kenneth and Betty Larson and Donald and Audrey Larson.

Special thanks to granddaughter Maria for all her help these last years and to Richard and Marilyn for taking such wonderful care of me.

The family wishes to extend gratitude to Lake Country Health Services and Northshore Health Hospice for their exceptional care over the last six months.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center or the charity of your choice.

A Funeral Service for Margaret will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Pastor Michele Engh will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Margaret will be laid to rest at Manning Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.
