Marian B. Tainter, 80, of Westby, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Normal 0 false false false Marian Tainter passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at her daughter's home in Westby, WI on September 25, 2013. She was born in Vernon County, WI on January 26, 1933 to Julius and Alvia (Tyvand) Slette. She married Keith Tainter on June 27, 1953. Marian was a faithful and active member of North Coon Prairie Lutheran Church and was a member of Norseland Auxiliary and the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, playing cards, coffee outings with friends, her employment at IGA, and life in general. For all of us who knew her, she was undoubtedly someone you could always count on. Marian is survived by her husband, Keith; daughter, Terrie (Arne) Haugen and their daughter, Anne Haugen; son, Jeff and his children, Krista (Matthew) Joyce, Kyle and Karlee Tainter; son, Mark (Kim) and their sons, Matthew (Christy) and Craig; Lorie's children, Curt Stakston and Destinie Brown; daughter, Julie Johnson and her children, Jay, Andy (Whitney) and Abby; daughter, Mary Holte and her children, Leah (Patrick) Fanella, Brett and Kylee Holte; 7 great-grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter; 2 sisters, Addy (Greg) Nelson and LouAnn (Fritz) Engh; 2 brothers-in-law, Ken (Darlene) and Larry (Debbie); 2 sisters-in-law, Betty (Kenneth) and Bonney (Donald); several special nephews and nieces; and 3 very special friends, Betty Ann Burns, Chris Treleven and Jan Garkey. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Alvia; Keith's parents, Zilmer and Mabel Tainter; sister, Eldoris Melby; brothers-in-law, Ted Dreves and Ralph Melby; daughter, Lorie Brown; grandson, Erik Haugen; and granddaughter, Alycia Brown. Marian was a loving and devoted wife, mom, sister, grandma, aunt and friend, and she will be missed by all. Blessed be our memory of Marian B. Tainter. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at North Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Cashton. Pastor John Stennes-Spidahl will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. Friends may also call at the church on Monday after 10:00 a.m. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
