Marie A. Hauge, age 93 of Viroqua, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Marie Alberta Hauge, age 93, of Viroqua passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua, where she had been a resident since January 4, 2010. She was born November 2, 1917, in the Town of Franklin, Vernon County to Albert and Mary (Larson) Everson. She graduated from Viroqua High School in 1937, Vernon County Normal School in 1939 and taught for several years at White City and Folsom country schools. On March 31, 1942 she married Leonard Hauge at the church parsonage in Viroqua. They farmed at rural Soldiers Grove until moving to Viroqua in 1954. Marie was employed at Vernon Memorial Hospital in the dietary department for over 30 years. She was a member of Franklin Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughgter, Marsha (George) Kilen; granddaughter, Tammy (Brian) Gardner; and great-granddaughter, Amanda Gardner; sister, Ann Eide; sisters-in-law: Agnes Everson and Edith Chasse, all of Viroqua; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard in 1989; brothers: Lawrence, Orvin, Adolph, Kenneth, Ernest, Edward, Albert Jr. and Thomas; sisters: Ingeborg Swiggum, Alvina Christopherson, and Irene Peterson; several nieces and nephews. Blessed be our memory of Marie A. Hauge. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Franklin Lutheran Church at Folsom. Pastor Peter Beckstrand will officiate with burial in the Franklin Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St., (Hwy. 56) in Viroqua and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
