Marilyn Anderson

GALESVILLE Marilyn R. Anderson, 82, of Galesville passed away peacefully Thursday, February 15, 2018 surrounded in love from her family. She was born May 22, 1935 to William and Gertrude (Steiger) Thomas of Ettrick. She married Raymond G. Anderson on February 2, 1957. Growing up, she loved living in the country and was active in 4-H, winning many awards with her favorite cow, Judy. Marilyn loved music. She was an accomplished organist, playing for countless church services, funerals and weddings. She was the first director of the Presbyterian Church Bell Choir and served in that role for several years. She donated many hours of time keeping books for the Pine Cliff Cemetery Association. After raising her four children, she held various jobs, the latest of which was co-owner of Butchs Print Shop up until the time of her retirement. Marilyns greatest joy in life was being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Ray of 61 years, daughters Lyn (Paul) Halderson and Lisa (Jerry) Collins of Galesville, sons Tom (Laurie) of Fall Creek and Tim (Amy) of Trempealeau; grandchildren Joel (Dana), Amy (Tom), Ted (Ruth), Kelly (Al), Chris (Jess), Emily, Matt, Sara (Luke); and her 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Dorothy Trachte of St. Joseph, MI, and Kay (David) Vosseteig of Westby, sister-in-law Mary (Ben) Johnson of Richland, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janet Quinn, and brother-in-law David Trachte. To honor her wishes, the family will hold a private memorial service with celebration of life at a later date. The Vosseteig Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
