Marilyn Ann Dahl

September 16, 1936 — May 13, 2024

Marilyn Ann Everson Dahl was born September 16, 1936, in Soldiers Grove to Kenneth and Olga Molldrem Everson. She was baptized at Kickapoo Lutheran Church and confirmed at Utica Lutheran Church. Marilyn attended Mount Sterling grade school and graduated from Gays Mills High School in 1954. She graduated from the Vernon County Teachers College in 1956 and taught school at Colonel May for two years. She married Ronald Dahl on November 2, 1957, at the Good Shepherd Church. She worked for 32 years at Vernon Memorial Hospital, and nine years at the Gunderson Clinic. She farmed alongside Ronnie for 40 years.


Marilyn was very active in the Bethel Lutheran Church serving on the council, Sunday School superintendent and teacher, president of the WELCA and Rachel Circle. She volunteered with the American Cancer Society.  Marilyn enjoyed being active in the Red Hats Society, the Rosebud Homemakers Club and the Sentimental Singers.


She organized many programs and skits for Luther League, Sunday School and Mother’s Day.


Marilyn was also a great baker and was well known for her pecan pies and taking as many as 24 of them to a craft sale she attended every year in Minnesota.


Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Debra (Dan) Vogel; her son, Dean (Terry) Dahl; her grandsons, Brandon (Chentel) Dahl and Dustin (Shari) Dahl; and her great-grandchildren, Deitrich, Drebin and Dalix Dahl. She is further survived by her brother, Duane Everson; her sister, Darlene Sisbach; and sister-in-law, Sandra Dahl. Marilyn was preceded in death by Ronald Dahl, her husband of 66 years; her parents; her brothers-in-law,Larry Dahl and Orland Sisbach; and her sister-in-law, Barbara Everson.

A Funeral Service for Marilyn will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Bethel Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Additional visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Marilyn will be laid to rest at the church cemetery.
