Marilyn Storer

Marilyn Storer, age 84 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Marilyn A. Wanless Storer, age 84, of Viroqua died Tuesday morning May 12th 2015 following a courageous journey with Alzheimers disease. She was born April 12, 1931 to Clyde and Rose (Pellett) Wanless in Richland County, WI. She grew up on a farm in Elk Run, Viola, with her brothers Clyde Junior, Wesley, Arles, Cecil, and Paul, and graduated from Viola High School in 1949. She married Aaron Storer on September 17, 1949 who preceded her in death in 2009. She lived over 40 years on the Storer family farm in Brush Hollow where she raised her daughters, Vicki and Diane, while enjoying the outdoors, gardening, and raising animals. She assisted Aaron in the photography business for many years by doing oil colors and wedding photography. She retired from Tri-State Breeders (Accelerated Genetics) in 1996 after serving 33 years in the front office where she was known as "Mother." In retirement, Aaron and Marilyn enjoyed traveling in the United States with their campers, including their trip of a lifetime to Alaska. They also enjoyed a wood carving hobby as a team with Aaron carving and Marilyn painting. Marilyn was active in the Viroqua United Methodist church for many years. Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Vicki Kuttner and her husband, Max Kuttner of Chestnut Hill Cove, MD, and Diane Storer Brown and her life partner, Tony Sung of Pittsburg, CA; step-granddaughter, Maggie; brother, Paul Wanless, Weyauwega, WI; sisters-in-law, Lois Wanless, Richland Center, WI and Marlene (Storer) Curtis, Viola, WI; numerous nieces and nephews; and her adopted family of Ron, Marsha, and Zac Hall, Westby, WI. Marilyn now rests in peace with Aaron in the Brush Hollow Cemetery. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Viroqua United Methodist Church. Pastor Jean Waldron will officiate with burial in the Brush Hollow Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
