Marion Stephenson

Marion "Mary" Stephenson, age 87, of Viroqua, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2022, with her loving family present. Mary grew up in Davenport, Iowa with two supportive parents, Art and Winfred Briggs. Mary was born on January 31, 1935. She was the sister to five caring brothers: Jack, Dale, Chuck, Larry, and Bob who loved her dearly. Mary attended high school at West High in Davenport. She spent most of her life as a Baptist school teacher caring for young individuals. Mary was known as a feisty, humorous, spunky, compassionate window shopper. She enjoyed being with her family, friends, and close neighbors. Mary enjoyed spending time outdoors, watching birds, gardening, and fishing at Credit Island on the Mississippi River. She had a big heart for everyone she ever met, especially a love for her sweet pups, Tar and Jasmine. Mary was a caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. Mary leaves behind her ex-husband, Donald H.; daughters, Pam and Paula; son, Doug; grandchildren: Christa, Angie, Ziggy, Clyde, Nathan, Ryan, Shane, Dustin, Jamie and Aaron; great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Virgil, Alyssa, Brianna, Joshua, Jason, Halie, Tylor, Riley, Mac, Travis, and Nicole; and great great-grandchildren: Sofia, Savannah, and Gabriella. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at Vosseteig Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. A private burial for Mary will be held for family only at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa. Vosseteig Larson Funeral Home & Crematory is serving Mary's family. 123 W.
