Marjorie K. Felde, age 95 of Viroqua, died Saturday, December 20, 2008. Marjorie Katherine (Fortney) Felde, age 95 of Viroqua died Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. She was born on October 27, 1913 in Minneapolis, MN to Martin and Olene "Lena" Marie (Stegne) Fortney. In 1938 she graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and taught one year in Tony, WI before moving to the Viroqua area. She was married to Reuben Felde in 1950. She worked in various offices in Viroqua including the Unified Board, Social Services, and the Red Cross. Marjorie was a church organist from high school years well into her 80s, mainly at Immanuel Lutheran Church and then Zion Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben in 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her good friend, Emerald Matson. She is survived by her son, Donald of Viroqua; daughter, Rebecca of Columbus, Ohio; and her daughter, Roxanne of Viroqua. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Felde; and nieces and nephews. Marjorie was a retired AM (Associate in Ministry) on the roster of the LaCrosse Area Synod of the ELCA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Pastor Kathryn Ingbritsen will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
