Marjorie M. Rasque, age 88 of Ferryville, died Monday, May 21, 2007 at her home. . Marjorie M. Rasque, age 88, of Ferryville, died peacefully at home on Monday, May 21, 2007 with her family by her side. She was born on July 28, 1918 to Matt and Della Beran on the family farm in Grant County. She graduated from Muscoda High School, and on September 18, 1939 was united in marriage to James Rasque in East Dubuque, IL. They lived part of their married life in Muscoda until moving to Ferryville in 1960. For many years Marjorie was a teachers aide at the Ferryville Grade School. She was well known for always having a band-aid or hug when it was needed. After her retirement she spent many years traveling with family and friends. She was proud of the fact that the only state she had not been to was Oregon in the continental United States. She was an accomplished quilt maker and had hand made quilts for the birth of her three youngest grandchildren, her 26 great-grand children and had just started her 30th quilt for her great-great-granddaughter. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lansing, IA. The Never Grow Old Club and the Muscoda American Legion Auxiliary for 61 years.She is survived by her four children, Joan Ver Duin of Victory, Terry (Bernell) Rasque of Prairie du Chien, Rodney (Patti) Rasque of DeSoto and Diane (Duane) Froh of Genoa. 15 grandchildren 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Two sister, Gwen (John) Laufenberg of Muscoda, Beverly Crapp of Middleton, two brothers James (Donna) Beran of Arizona, and Jack (Lisa) Beran of Muscoda. Two sisters-in-law Armilda (James) Cohoon of Cazenovia and Louise Fritz of Madison.She was preceded in death by her husband James, infant daughter Mary Constance, son-in-law Jack Ver Duin, infant sister Emercius and a sister Lola Roen.Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Lansing United Methodist Church in Lansing, Iowa. Rev. Keith Putney will officiate with burial in Muscoda, Wisconsin Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 320 Main (Hwy 82) in DeSoto, Wis. Friends may also call at the church in Friday from 10:00m a..m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is serving the family.
