Marjorie M. Strait

LaFARGE Marjorie M. Strait, age 63 of LaFarge, died Saturday April 29, 2017. Marjorie (Steinmetz) Strait, 63, passed away on April 29, 2017 with her family at her side. She was born on May 13, 1953 to Donavon and Merle (Perkins) Steinmetz at Vernon Memorial Hospital. On October 21, 1972 she married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Strait. They enjoyed 44 years of marital bliss. Marjorie was a stay at home mom until the children were in school. She worked several years for the school lunch department. She loved going to the school events to watch the children learn and grow, be it through sports, academics, or fund raisers. Spending time with family, in the community, lending a helping hand and being outside were her joys in life. Kettle corn and apple cider in the back yard to greet the cool fall nights. Holidays were ushered in with homemade chocolates. Her cookie jar could not sit empty. Homemade pizza nights were cherished by all. Marjorie is survived by: her husband Tommy Strait of La Farge, and two children Andy Strait of Cambridge WI, and Crystal Strait of Milwaukee WI. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frank and Orland, and sister-in-laws Judy and Deanna. A special thank you for the Bland-Bekkedal Center for Hospice Cares staff. Funeral Services for Marjorie will be Thursday May 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Free Methodist Church in LaFarge. Pastor Mark Phillips will officiate with burial to follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in LaFarge. Friends may call during a visitation Wednesday May 3, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Church in LaFarge, also from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. one hour before the service Thursday.
